1) For learning arts n design more effectively, a proper syllabus should be set for each grade and as per the syllabus, required materials list should be included in the stationary items bought during the purchase of books at the start of the academic year. There are lot of art techniques that can be Taught to kids apart from basic coloring. (Like glad painting, making tape painting, lippan art, clay mural works, jewellery making, quilling art, terracota works, screen printing n much more) For example I found some art work done by students on Decoupage at the school reception. But they were made with newspaper. This would have ideally taught the kids just an intro on what is a Decoupage work but the usage of apt materials like rice paper, mod pudge n all would have given them in depth knowledge n actual experience on the art technique. 2) Moreover rather than having one general music class which let the kids to sing n learn some general English songs, elective option can be given to kids to choose from various art forms like bharathanatyam, carnatic vocal, flute lessons etc., rather than having them only in eca, including them as elective subjects would be more helpful and would shape them better.
